What’s On MCR: November

So much is happening this November, so we decided to break it up into exhibitions and fairs. So let’s start with the exhibitions:

Exhibitions launching in November:

Paper After All – Saul Hay Gallery

‘Paper After All is a collaborative touring exhibition bringing together a group of Irish & English artists for a dialogue around paper. Each artist has been asked to respond to the idea of assemblage: art that is made by assembling disparate elements – often everyday objects – scavenged by the artist or bought specially in order to create a new body of work for the exhibition.’

Paper After All | Saul Hay Gallery | 11th to 20th November 2022

Bee There for Maggie – Whitworth Art Gallery

‘On Thursday 10th November 2022, a very special collection of 10 unique paintings will go on display, bringing together areas of Manchester’s vibrant history, culture and community. Each piece showcases the city’s famous skyline with the iconic worker bee the main attraction. The subsequent sale of the ‘Bee There for Maggie’s’ collection by artist Justin Eagleton will raise money for Maggie’s Manchester to support people living with cancer’

Constellations: Care & Resistance

‘Jade Montserrat creates works on paper and performances exploring race, the body and language. She has made a major new work which will enter the city’s collection. As part of this process, Manchester Art Gallery have created an active research space, showing her previous works on paper alongside artworks from the collection. Part gallery and part studio, they are also presenting her notebooks, research, and art materials, which give you a unique insight into her artistic process and creative thinking.’
