which artists progress through each round and will ultimately be crowned the winner.

‘MANCHESTER OPEN EXHIBITION’ – AT HOME MCR

Home MCR receive thousands of entries to their open exhibition every year. Based on their
belief, ‘everyone is an artist’, they’ll be showcasing Greater Manchester’s creative talent
across painting, print, sculpture, video/ audio, performance and photography.

‘HORIZONALLY AND VERTICALLY’ BY ‘JOAN CHARNLEY – AT WEAVERS FACTORY

The Weavers Factory is back! And they are kicking off the year with a brand-new schedule of events starting with Joan Charnley ‘Horizontally and Vertically- The Importance of Stripe in Textile Design’. Based on Joan’s Charnley’s thesis, written in 1949, this exhibition will display original prints and excerpts as well as inviting new participation from Oldham College. It’s worth noting that, if you can make it on the 8th, there will be tea and cake on offer too.

‘ART OF OESOPHGEAL CANCER’ – AT MANCHESTER CENTRAL LIBRARY

Manchester- born creative Ann wood is raising awareness of Oesophageal Cancer and how it can be treated with her new art exhibition at Manchester Central Library. This series of works shows us the experience of chemotherapy, surgery and stays in the High Dependency Unit from the patient point of view.

‘YELENA OVERCHENKO’ – AT WATERSIDE ARTS
This solo exhibition by photographer Yelena Overchenko covers the themes of fashion, fine
art, portraiture, human consciousness and self-awareness. Alongside her own creative
projects, Yelena has a ten-year photography career working with fashion labels and
magazines.
