Come join us for a free, online, art meet up! This casual sketch club is a way for people to come and test out their drawing skills and meet like-minded folk at the same time! Each 40 minute session we will run through two-to-three different and engaging drawing exercises, just to get your creative juices flowing. It’s a bit of fun, you’re work won’t be marked or judged, as we are all there just to have a go! Pick up a pencil, have a beer and have fun!

See the gallery at the bottom of the page for examples from previous classes!

Please note – we highly recommend you use a laptop/desktop to join (rather than a phone or ipad)

NEXT EVENT – Thursday 4th June: This week, we will be turning your drawing fingers into green fingers! – Apologies for that joke!

All you need is a pen, pencil and a pint (or any other drink you wish to have)!

Success! You're on the list.

Following recent feedback, here are some tips on how best to use Zoom and take part in the class.

Q. How do I pin the video and keep it pinned? (Pin meaning keep that speakers screen large and active)

A. Here is a link to how to pin on different devices – Zoom How To – pin

Q. How to I join with video and/or audio?

A. Here is a link on how to join the meeting and turn on your audio – Zoom How To – join

Q. Can I use a mobile to take part?

A. Yes you can, although we highly recommend using a laptop if possible. As you will be drawing from the screen, it is much easier to see the items from a larger screen. Plus, it is much easier to pin the the video. See above.

Q. Can I use a pen and/or coloured pencils?

A. Yes! You can use what you wish. However, as the majority of people will be using pencils, the class is guided with that in mind.

Q. How hard is the class? I haven’t drawn before / don’t have any training etc.

A. ‘Looking Sketchy’ is all just a bit of fun! There is no judging, no marking, it’s mainly to give you some inspiration to get drawing and the tutor will guide you through some basic drawing techniques. There is the option to show the others your drawings, but you don’t have to if you don’t feel comfortable.
