Cotton On MCR: Art All-Dayer

The long-awaited Art All-Dayer is finally here! Since March 2020 we’ve had to keep postponing the event, but we’re so excited that we finally have a new confirmed date and venue, and we can’t wait for you to see what’s in store.

There is no other event like it! We are combining the best of Manchester’s art scene into one amazing Art All-Dayer – featuring a huge affordable art fair, workshops, a pop-up exhibition and more! Brought to you by the best of Manchester’s creatives. This all-day event is the first of its kind!

The 2021 Art All-Dayer will be held on Saturday 14th August, in Halle St Peters Ancoats, open from 11am – 6pm. £1 entry to over 18s on the door, or it’s free entry for those who have workshop tickets.

Here’s a little video of our last event to give you a taster of what’s to come.

100% of the feedback we got from this event said they’d recommend future events to a friend!

Art Fair:

The huge art fair will feature 60 stalls of amazing, affordable, art, from paintings to prints and pottery to photography! We only feature the work of creatives living and/or working in the Greater Manchester region, making sure we promote the best, local talent this incredible city has to offer.

[In my best Game Show host voice] Plus there’s more! We will be hosting a pop-up art exhibition too! Carlos Ferg, the winner of the best piece at our ‘In Manchester’ exhibition, will be exhibiting his very own solo show of work. Carlos’s most recent work is a hyper-real, dark mix of the traditional and the contemporary. His work is breathtaking to see in the flesh. Carlos says: ‘At the beginning of the pandemic I decided to give a representative turn to my work and to start working more on the figurative work, based on the symbolist painting of the 19th century, with the idea of questioning the concept of gender equality today. I question whether the patriarchal societies of the past have evolved enough to more egalitarian societies capable of guaranteeing the rights of all individuals equally, regardless of the gender that represents us’. This exhibition is not one to be missed!

Alongside all that, you can take part in our fantastic workshops! Come and learn a new skill and stretch your artistic wings! You can take part in an acrylic painting workshop where you get to explore techniques of paintings. Or try your hand at marbling! Here you’ll learn the techniques to create you own marble effect and you can decorate a A5 sketchbook which will be free to you one the day. Hosted by Chelsea School of Art Fine Art graduate, Louise Garman, has been teaching art regularly throughout her career. From Manchester Adult Education Centre, to Bury College, Smithills Coaching House, Bolton Art Gallery and Museum, The Fed Social Services and even as a guest on cruiseships. Both workshops run for 45mins each and you can find more info and purchase a ticket on the links below.

Charity Tombola

If you can believe it, there’s still more to add! Come to our Art All-Dayer and enter our charity tombola! Everyone’s a winner! We will be raising money for the fantastic charity, The Booth Centre. ‘The Booth Centre is a day centre that offers advice, activities and support to homeless people in Manchester.’ You can win anything from art supplies to stationary, to prints and paintings! All the money raised goes to a great cause. We are now taking donations of any art-related prizes, from pencils, books, prints, workshop tickets and more! Please do get in touch if you are able to donate!

Put all this Manchester, arty, goodness in one big pot, in an awesome location, and you have got yourself a pretty awesome all-day art event!
