Cotton On MCR: Art All-Dayer:
There is no other event like it! We are combining the best of Manchester’s art scene into one amazing Art All-Dayer – featuring a huge affordable art fair, workshops, a pop-up exhibition and more! Brought to you by the best of Manchester’s creatives. This all-day event is the first of its kind, and it’s free to attend!
NEWS UPDATE: So as you are aware, Covid-19 has lasted a lot longer than we all thought and this has caused a lot of events to be postponed, including our Art All-Dayer. We are truly gutted that we have not yet been able to host this, and currently, we are unable to set a new confirmed date. The event WILL be going ahead, but at this stage, we just aren’t too sure when.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to work and strive to make this event amazing for you guys.
Tickets already sold are acceptable for the new date, or fully refundable if you wish to do so.
In the meantime, read all about the amazing events we have planned for you guys!!
Here’s a little video of our last event to give you a taster of what’s to come.
100% of the feedback we got from this event said they’d recommend future events to a friend!
The huge affordable art fair will feature over 40 stalls of amazing, and affordable, art, from paintings to prints, pottery to photography! We only feature the work of creatives living and/or working in the Greater Manchester region, making sure we promote the best, local talent this incredible city has to offer. Keep an eye out on social media as we announce the sellers soon!
[In my best Game Show host voice] Plus there’s more! We will be hosting a pop-up art exhibition too! This is the first ever Cotton On MCR art exhibition and we are so happy to have Tom Quigley showing some of his amazing work! Our previous Manc of the Month will be displaying some of pieces which explore the streets of Manchester. Tom finds the beauty in the overlooked, dark and dingy and backstreet bins. All those streets we know so well yet not at all, he brings to the forefront, making you aware of our city’s hidden treasures. He’s one we’ve been following for a while so you don’t miss him at our one day event!
Alongside all that, you can take part in our fantastic workshops! Our friends over at ArtMCR will be hosting two workshops throughout the day. Come and learn a new skill and stretch your artistic wings! You can take part in an acrylic painting workshop where you get to explore techniques of paintings. Or try your hand at marbling! Here you’ll learn the techniques to create you own marble effect and you can decorate a A5 sketchbook which will be free to you one the day. Hosted by artist Adam McWhinnie, he says: ‘I set up ArtMCR as a platform to host and promote creative workshops that were accessible and fun and include participants who may shy away from traditional art classes.’ Both workshops run for 45mins each and you can find more info and purchase a ticket on the links below.
If you can believe it, there’s still more to add! Come to our Art All-Dayer and enter our charity tombola! Everyone’s a winner! We will be raising money for the fantastic charity, The Booth Centre. ‘The Booth Centre is a day centre that offers advice, activities and support to homeless people in Manchester.’ You can win anything from art supplies to stationary, to prints and paintings! All the money raised goes to a great cause. We are now taking donations of any art-related prizes, from pencils, books, prints, workshop tickets and more! Please do get in touch if you are able to donate!
Put all this Manchester, arty, goodness in one big pot, in an awesome location, with craft beers, wines, cocktails, music, and food vans, and you have got yourself a pretty awesome all-day art event!
Here is the location! If you know where Deansgate Locks is, or where Bridgewater Hall is – you’ll find it!
Hit attending on the Facebook event also!
