Covid-19 New Statement

Hi All

Myself and the team wanted to give you an update following the Government’s recent announcement regarding Covid-19 and another national lock-down. We wanted to update you all on how it’s affected us here at Cotton On MCR and what we’re doing to keep going.

As you may already know, we had some amazing arts and crafts workshops scheduled for November and December, which we have sadly had to postpone. We’re all gutted this has had to happen as we were really looking forward to welcoming you all to the workshops, but your safety is key and we wouldn’t want to go ahead with any events against Government guidance or health expert’s advice. Myself, the artists, the girls in the office and our workshop assistants are truly gutted about the changes, but still very excited about the prospect of hosting these events in the future.

Those of you that have purchased tickets (all of which have been contacted). We apologise for any upset and inconvenience this may have caused, but hope you can all understand it’s out of our hands. We’re encouraging all our ticket holders to join our Facebook group, even if your workshop has been postponed, so you can keep sharing crafting ideas and be part of the Cotton On MCR community. Also, head to our Meet the Team and/or About page where you can get to know us in the office and meet the workshop assistants who will be with you at your workshop events.

Behind the scenes we’re still working really hard (from home) to get our workshops up and running when it’s safe to do so and ensuring that when they do go ahead, they are safe and fun. As always, we will keep a close eye on Government guidelines and changes and make sure our workshops are adhering to full Covid-19 regulations. Most of our events will pick up again from the end of January 2021, so fingers crossed things have opened up again then. We want to thank the venues we are working with for being so flexible with us, and the artists and freelancers too.

We also have plans for more events, exhibitions and workshops we’re hoping host when we’re able to do so in the new year. Our days working from home are going to be jam-packed with planning so that we can bring you the best events and activities to cure those Covid-blues. We are working on our first ever, stand alone exhibition, and continuing to plan the postponed Art All-Dayer. As winter creeps in and we spend more time indoors, we want to give you exciting things to engage with, so expect some more articles, interviews, social media content and videos to keep those nights-in arty!

Thank you for taking the time to read our statement and understand how we are trying to navigate this tricky situation. Cotton On MCR is still open and here for all your art needs, in as best and as many ways as we can. So please do keep us in the loop with your events, your new artwork and any exhibitions that are still running! You can contact us in a number of ways, on our Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, or via our Contact page.

We are ‘all in this together’ as they say on High School Musical, so lets keep battling on and hope that next year, we can try and live a normal, arty, life. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we wish you all well!

If you have any comments, concerns or feedback for us during this time, please do get in touch via our Contact page.
