Following the amazing success of our Art All Dayer in August, we are back with another, the Art All Dayer: Winter Edition! Saturday 20th November you can expect everything you have come to know and love about Cotton On MCR events, plus much more!
We pride ourselves on creating events for Greater Manchester, which are ran by and show off the talent of those right here in our region! We are all about promoting local artists and talent and celebrating the amazing, Manchester art scene. We want to create events that are open and welcoming to all, to show how there are a number of ways you can get involved in art, whether that be an art fair, workshops or exhibitions – we have it all!
Not only will we be back at the beautiful venue of Hallé St Peter’s with 60+ Manchester based artists selling their arts, crafts, jewellery, ceramics, homeware and Christmas gifts too, we’ll also be using their sister venue around the corner, Hallé St Michael’s! That is right, we are expanding! Alongside the art fair, we are back with our art workshops, housing these in both venues, but this time we have more classes and they’ll be more Christmas themed ones – of course!
Plus, we will be hosting another solo artist exhibition! Again we will be celebrating another one of our Manc of the Month artists but who that will be is up to you! We will be putting the exhibition to a public vote, and you will crown the ‘Manc of the Year!’
Come see us on Saturday 20th November, Hallé St Peter’s, 11am – 6pm, £1 entry (on the door)!
Here’s a little taster of what to expect from our last event:
More information on what’s to come below!
As before, the huge art fair will feature 60+ stalls of amazing, affordable, art, from paintings to prints and pottery to photography! We only feature the work of creatives living and/or working in the Greater Manchester region, making sure we promote the best, local talent this incredible city has to offer. We do our best to make sure we have a huge variety of work, so there really is something for everyone, and at affordable prices too. We ask our artists to make sure the majority of items they are selling are under £100. Come along and support your local artists and see a wonderful array of arts and crafts for sale!
Applications are now CLOSED. If you would like to stay up to date with our event open calls, please sign up to our Opportunities newsletter. You can do so via our Get Involved page.
You can also visit our FAQ page for more information.
At our August event all our workshops sold out! So this time round we are bringing you more! We will not only be hosting these in Hallé St Peter’s, but we will be using their sister venue (literally around the corner) Hallé St Michael’s too! This way we can bring you a whole new bunch of Christmas (and non-Christmas) themed workshops. Why not try your hand at creating a paper sculpture angel! You can hang it on your tree, have it adorn your mantelpiece, and show it off to your friend and family. You can also try your hand at creating a collage, or a Christmas collage card! The art of collage making is rarely taught, so why not learn something new! Plus we will be adding a 3rd workshop idea soon, so watch this space! You can purchase available workshops via the links below. (Others coming soon!)
We are all about giving Manchester artists an opportunity to showcase their work, and what better way than a solo exhibition. As you may know, each month we celebrate a Manchester based creative in our Manc of the Month feature. We have such an incredible backlog of featured artists that we just couldn’t decide which one to pick for the exhibition. So we thought we’d put it to you! We held a public vote via Instagram stories. Here you voted for your favourite Manc of the Month, and the one with the most votes has been given the title of ‘Manc of the Year.’ They will then have a solo exhibition as part of our Art All Dayer event.
Nominees for Manc of the Year were:
And we can now reveal that the WINNER of our MANC OF THE YEAR competition is….
Rachael is a contemporary painter based at Rogue Artists’ studios in Manchester who’s practice is fundamentally a mark making process. She creates beautiful abstract landscapes by applying a multitude of paint layers and patterns to the canvas which is underpinned by the philosophy of Zen Buddhism and its influence on abstract expressionist painters in the 1950’s. Racheal work seeks to establish a contemplative and meditative aspect both for the viewer and for herself.
Put all this Manchester, arty, goodness in one big pot, in an awesome location, and you have got yourself a pretty awesome all-day art event!
