Beyond Landscapes Exhibition

‘Beyond Landscapes’ is our upcoming, open call exhibition where we look deeper into what ‘landscape art’ can be.

We want this exhibition to not only show painted landscapes of natural scenes, but abstract work, cityscapes and even landscape themed sculptures – all from Greater Manchester artists.

This exhibition will be displayed in the amazing Saul Hay Gallery, and is open for all to come along and see a huge variety of work from talented, Manchester artists, all exploring what ‘landscapes’ means to them.

Launching with a private view, Wednesday 17th August, the exhibition runs to Sunday 28th August and is free to attend!

‘Beyond Landscapes’ exhibition is our first, themed, open call exhibition. We want to shine a light on artists of Greater Manchester that explore what the term ‘landscape’ means to them. Whether this be a painting of the rolling hills in the countryside, or a detailed, photo-realistic cityscape, photography work of Manchester scenes, or clay sculptures of buildings… We aim to display a variety of work that showcases all of this and more.

Here at Cotton On MCR, one of our sayings is ‘art can be for everyone and made by anyone!‘ We pride ourselves on creating events that always show a huge mix of artists and work. We have shown students from the University, next to seasoned and professional artists. We want ‘Beyond Landscapes’ to do the same.

We create our events to appeal to the ‘everyday’ art fan. We don’t want art to be an elitist thing, and our exhibitions and events aren’t pretentious. We try to make them fun and welcoming to all, a down-to-earth event where people can come, meet others and enjoy some great art along the way.

So if you have never set foot in a gallery or art event before, come to ours! There are so many ways you can be involved and support your local art scene, and this exhibition is one of them. We will have works up for sale too, with a range of prices to suit any budget, so come to ‘Beyond Landscapes’ to see what we have in store.
